This is the second of my basic knitting posts - click here to see the first. This post is a tutorial about knitting into the front and back of a stitch (Kfb). As a result of this technique you make two stitches, rather than just the one that is created when you simply knit a stitch. This technique allows you to create additional stitches in a row of knitting.

Knitting Basics: Knit One Stitch
![]() |
Basic Knitting Techniques |
I have been thinking of writing a post on knitting for a few days. There were a lot of possibilities but I think that it is best to start at the beginning and start with the basics. So here is my first knitting post - you can't get more basic than a tutorial on how to knit a single stitch as it it the fundamental building block for any piece of knitting. Once you can knit one stitch you can build up the different techniques and knit pretty much anything you like!
